A professionally installed tarmac driveway can easily last 15 to 20 years or more. Its lifespan depends heavily on the quality of the sub-base and how well the drainage is managed. Regular maintenance and fixing small cracks early can extend the life of the surface significantly.

In some cases, yes. This is known as an "overlay." However, it is only a good idea if the existing driveway is structurally sound and has no major sinking or drainage issues. If the base is failing, laying new tarmac on top will only hide the problem for a few months. We always provide an honest assessment during our site visit.
